We are seeking a computational biologist with an innovative mindset, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a team to solve problems in preclinical research and development. The position will entail collaborating with scientists to design experiments, develop tools, analyze large/complex datasets, and leverage our growing body of knowledge to advance the identification and optimization of therapeutic leads.
Key Responsibilities
- Derive and interpret results from internally and externally sourced sequencing data.
- Design and synthesize diverse feature sets to model molecular properties in silico and accelerate identification of promising therapeutic candidates.
- Support data-driven decision-making and assist with the development of efficient analysis pipelines.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of work and code.
- Foster growth of colleagues and the company by helping bridge the gap between computation and biology.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and methodologies in bioinformatics and computational biology.
- Communicate findings and results to a wide range of stakeholders in written and oral formats.
Preferred Qualifications
- A BS, MS in computational biology, bioinformatics or a related discipline.
- Experience analyzing and troubleshooting a variety of next-generation sequencing data.
- Experience implementing molecular dynamic simulations or other molecular modeling paradigms.
- Applied experience with machine learning or statistical modeling a plus.
- Fluency in Python, R, or both.
- Comfortable working in Linux and/or cloud-based computational environments.
- Open-minded, team-centric, collaborative approach to work and colleagues.
- Industry experience a plus but not required.
