This Cloud Engineering role is a key position within the company's Technology Solutions group within the Customer Operations umbrella. You will play a critical part in the implementation of our software within our clients’ domains. To fill this role successfully, you will need a strong understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP) and infrastructure automation (CloudFormation, Bicep, Docker, K8s, Helm), as well as a functional understanding of Python and PostgreSQL.
In addition to the technical skills required in this position, a well-developed sense for working with people is important. As a member of the Solutions Technology team, you will be working with a broad swathe of contributors across the all organizations, as well as a number of our customers. Ultimately we are looking for a technologist, a partner, and a teammate; a person that can talk the talk and walk the walk.
What you will get to do
- Provide effective solutions through the applied integration of infrastructure, software, and software delivery best practices within our clients’ domains
- Ensure optimal construction and implementation of CI/CD pipelines
- Build automation supporting the effective management and consumption of cloud resources
- Design and author soft infrastructure assets using IaC best practices
- Collaborate effectively within agile delivery squads delivering continuous improvements in customer outcomes
- Operate and maintain software systems across the full breadth of the SDLC
What will make you a good fit
- 5+ years Cloud Engineering experience in complex environments (eg. multiple users / multiple products / multiple sites)
- 5+ years hands on experience using Python, Docker/K8s, CloudFormation/Bicep/Helm
- 3+ years working in a customer facing role
- 3+ years of proven experience convincing people to follow your lead
What will make you stand out
- Experience in AWS or Azure Architecture ideally with an accreditation
- Experience using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) as an automation technology
- Experience deploying software into complex cloud environments
- Comfortable presenting and communicating ideas to key stakeholders and engineers alike
- Hands on experience of implementing infrastructure and service based monitoring solutions
- A good understanding of the security controls required to host applications and services in the cloud
- A good understanding of release management techniques within a cloud hosted environment
