SUMMARY: 

They are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Lab Operations Manager to support the growing team in building out and managing a lab space. They are looking for somebody who thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment with growing requirements and priorities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the build out of their lab space by coordinating with the facilities team and scientists
  • Set-up EHS guidelines and processes in the lab, coordinate hazardous waste disposal and perform routine lab inspections to ensure compliance
  • Set-up and manage vendors
  • Manage lab equipment moves as well as ordering and set-up of new equipment
  • Manage equipment maintenance including scheduling of preventative maintenance and service visits
  • Manage lab supplies orders and assist with ordering office and other supplies when necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Master's Degree, PhD with at least 3 years of industry experience as a lab manager
  • Experience with ordering, setting up and maintaining equipment is required
  • Previous experiences with EHS and hazardous waste disposal
  • Experience with setting up a new lab space is preferred
  • Proven organizational and problem-solving skills to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated, organized, and an effective communicator
  • Ability to quickly pivot between tasks and prioritize simultaneous tasks in a fast-paced environment
