Scismic is supporting the growth of a life sciences software company.
We are looking to hire a Senior Application Engineers to work within the Customer Solutions team where you will get to deliver high-quality deployments of our proprietary software to customers. In this role, the focus will be on developing software for integrating with external hardware and software, developing customer-specific plugins, and managing the deployment process.

In this role, the focus will be on developing software for integrating with external hardware and software, developing customer-specific plugins, and managing the deployment process.
Here are some other cool things you will get to do:
- Collaborate with Field Application Scientists to translate customer requirements into functional product configurations
- Integrate product with lab equipment and other devices and third-party software
- Develop new product plug-ins (Python and JavaScript) to meet customer requirements
- Manage software deployment configurations for on-premise and cloud-based deployments
- Write automated tests for customer deployments
- Troubleshoot customer problems
- Develop tools and infrastructure to accelerate deployment timelines, such as helping improve the company's standard content library and SDK
What will make you a good fit?
- At least 5 years of experience in software development with a minimum 2+ years of project leadership experience
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience developing software applications (specifically web applications)
- 5+ years of experience with JavaScript, HTML and CSS
- Experience administering Linux systems, including setting up networking, shared file systems, remote access, and firewalls
- Bachelors or equivalent experience in a relevant field, such as computer science or software engineering
- Good written and verbal communication skills
What will make you stand out?
- Familiarity with life sciences concepts, tools and applications (Molecular Biology, genomics, etc.)
- Experience with computational modeling of real-world processes
- Familiar with Tornado, scientific Python (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy)
- Familiar with high-performance computing environments (Slurm, LSF, etc.)
