Job description

Scismic is supporting the growth of a Boston-based law firm. Their clients extend across the US and many foreign countries and include Fortune 500 companies, public and private companies, PE/VC firms, financial institutions and wealthy individuals.

We are seeking an entry level staff scientist or patent agent with a strong technical background in biological sciences to join our team. 

 

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree required (Ph.D. preferred; will consider a Master’s degree with substantial industry experience).
  • Experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications and conducting IP due diligence and FTO analyses useful.
  • Some litigation and/or post-grant experience useful.
  • Registration with the USPTO preferred; prior firm experience helpful.
 

  • Candidates must have:
    • An excellent academic record
    • Superior organizational and communication skills (written and oral)
    • Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional client service and a creative and entrepreneurial perspective on IP.
    • Must be willing to work in person 3 times per week in the Boston office.
