Job description
Scismic is supporting the growth of a clinical-stage company that develops revolutionary tissue engineered products for skeletal repair, and is offering the chance to work with an early-stage company to support the clinical translation of innovative regenerative stem cell therapies based in Brooklyn, NY! They are seeking a candidate who will be responsible for assisting staff members with various tasks in the office and the laboratory, providing daily maintenance, stock room, and clerical support. Responsible for maintaining a clean and well-organized work area.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Assisting management, and technicians with requests/projects as directed.
- Maintenance: Maintaining a clean and organized work area in the lab. Responsible for stocking labware; gathering and filing compliance documents from vendors, meeting with facility vendors, changing compressed gas supply tanks when needed.
- Inventory Control: Monitor inventory, stock and maintain laboratory supplies alerting supervisor to reorder when needed. Dating of supplies.
- Chemical inventory, proper chemical segregation, disposal of regulated waste.
- Responsible for all assigned clerical duties as needed. Assist with completing safety and quality logs
- Send and receive laundry. Distribute lab coats and scrubs to the labs.
- Perform other job-related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Some college chemistry courses
- Some exposure to laboratory assistance and maintenance.
- Good communication skills.
- Good computer skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment.
- Well organized and self-managed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling and maintaining hazardous waste and materials.
- At minimum, an Associate’s Degree with science courses (chemistry and biology).
- 6+ months of laboratory experience.
Salary
- $18.00 -28.00 per hour depending on education and experience.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands

- Ability to lift 50lbs or more on a regular basis.
Employment Status
- Full-time; non-exempt from overtime.
